Old Dairy Craft Gallery
& Alpaca Boutique

Our Craft Gallery is located in what was once a working dairy (built by the current owners in 1978). The pit (or work area) of the old dairy is now a fishpond, complete with greenery and fountain.

Surrounding the pond is art and ceramics by well-known West Australian artist Wendy Binks (a member of the family!). Wendy’s unique style incorporates hand-thrown ceramics with hand painted Australian animals and her “Stunned Emu Designs” range of magnets, gift cards and framed prints are very popular. We also have a selection of her original oil and gouache paintings. Wendy has recently published her first childrens book - "Where's Stripey".

Can you imagine having to keep track of thirty small emu chicks, who are running here, there, and everywhere? Well, that’s what Crikey, their Dad must do, and when one of them goes missing, it sends him on a frantic search.

DOUBLE WINNER: "Where's Stripey" won the WA Premier's book award for best Childrens book and and also the Children’s and Young Adults Section of the Wild and Woolley Best Independently published Australian Books.

If you would like to purchase a copy of "Where's Stripey" please contact us by email, fax, phone or post - price $15 plus postage.

Wendy has a stall at the Fremantle Markets - See more of her work there!

Our gallery also has Santalia products, jewellery, window decals, woodcraft, soft toys, souvenir tea-towels, t-shirts, spoons, magnets, caps, and more.

Our “Alpaca Boutique” has a huge range of exquisite alpaca garments - jumpers, cardigans, jackets, shawls, capes, scarves, beanies and socks - with new stock constantly arriving. We also stock 4ply and 8ply knitting yarn (mail orders welcome) and raw fleece from our alpacas. Alpacas are shorn once a year and come in a broad range of colours from white to black and all the greys and browns inbetween. Fleece prices start at $20-00. We also have rugs and Teddy Bears made from alpaca hide - which are absolutely gorgeous!

Alpaca wool is very soft, strong, light and warm, does not matt or pill and is very durable. It has a lovely sheen, is very silky to the touch and has a lower prickle factor than sheep wool. Care instructions are very similar to sheep wool garments - wash in luke warm water (not hot) with approved wool detergent (or hair shampoo) and dry flat in shade. May also be Dry-cleaned.

Visitors are very welcome to browse in our Craft Gallery & Alpaca Boutique without entering the Farm.

Opening hours are 10am to 4pm daily
(closed 24th & 25th December only).
